Frequently asked questions

1. What should I bring to class? We have everything you need, just bring yourself!

Our amenities include:

  • Free yoga mat rental

  • High quality yoga & fitness props

  • Cold towels

  • Water & tea

  • Free parking

You may like to bring your own yoga mat, a water bottle, and extra towel if desired. We have all the props including high quality yoga mats, blocks and bolsters available for use for free.

2. What should I wear? Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for a full range of motion. You will see people wearing baggy sweatpants, athletic shorts, leggings, and more. As long as you are comfortable that’s all that matters! An extra layer such as a sweatshirt, etc. is recommended for our yin and restorative classes.

3. How early should I arrive for class? We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before class to check in, set up your mat, and get settled. The studio opens for guests 15 minutes prior to class start time. Please try to arrive to class on time to not disrupt other students or the teacher. If you are arriving just a few minutes late, we ask you to enter and to set up as quietly as possible. If you are arriving more than a few minutes, we ask guests to refrain from joining class for your own safety in missing the warm up.

4. Are classes heated? Our vinyasa classes are lightly heated to 80-85 degrees. Our yin yoga, restorative yoga, barre classes, and flow and restorative yoga classes the room is between 70 and 75 degrees.

5. Do I need to pre-register for classes? Yes, pre-registration is encouraged to secure your spot and help us maintain appropriate class sizes. Walk-ins are welcome as well!

6.Are beginners welcome? Absolutely! We have ALL been beginners, and we are honored to be a part of your yoga journey. We offer beginner-friendly options and instruction in all of our classes, as well as options for more challenges. Everyone will look different in class at times, and that is one of the best parts about yoga. Some students have been practicing for over a decade, and some a couple months. In time we become less concerned with what others are doing on their mats and more immersed in our own practice. Starting something new takes courage and we would love to have you. We encourage you to keep going, keep trying the different styles of yoga, and explore a variety of classes over time to inspire, challenge, and ground you!

7. What is your cancellation policy? If you need to cancel a class, please do so at least 12 hours before the start time by cancelling on the unionfit app, or sending us an email to: studio@dochashouseofyoga.com. We understand things happen, and encourage students to try their best to make it to class or schedule ahead when they know they can make it. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in a class credit deduction or a $15 fee.

8. Do you offer membership options or class packages? Yes, we have flexible options including drop-in rates, class packs, and unlimited monthly memberships. Visit our Pricing page for more details.

9. Can I attend classes if I am pregnant or have an injury? Please inform your instructor of any injuries, medical conditions, or if you are pregnant before class. Our instructors can offer modifications to ensure your practice is safe and comfortable. We have prenatal yoga on a rotating basis, and if you are looking for a class please reach out to us to learn about the next upcoming session!

10. Is there parking available? Yes, we have free on-site parking as well as nearby street parking. Plan to arrive early if you’re visiting during peak times.
